• Dr. Yao received his B.Sc. degree from National Taipei University of Technology and the M.Sc. degree from National Cheng Kung University, all in electrical engineering. He completed a Ph.D. in electronic, electrical and systems engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK. He worked with Silicon Integrated Systems Corporation as a research and development engineer from 2007 to 2008. From 2009 to 2010, he was at Keelung Customs Office. He joined the department of electrical engineering at National Taipei University as an assistant professor in 2016. Since 2020, he has been an associate professor at the University. His research has been centred around the field of signal processing, usually for acoustics-related applications. He was an outstanding reviewer of Computers & Electrical Engineering in 2017. At present, he is a member of the IEEE and the AES.
